Saatchi & Saatchi X + Wendy’s

Art Direction, Photo & Video Direction, & Design

I’ve worked on a variety of different projects for Wendy’s in my time at Saatchi & Saatchi X including (but definitely not limited to) store signage for national campaigns and new products, billboards, stadium LEDs, merchandise, menu boards, and whatever else came our way. I worked closely with the team at Wendy’s to make sure every bit of creative solved the problem at hand and engaged customers in a memorable way.

Takis x Wendy’s Collab

For this collab it was important that we bring the heat! We wanted something that felt energetic that really leaned in to the aesthetic of the iconic Takis brand so we chose to use a blend of yellow and red gradients within these flames that sat on a bright purple background to tie in Wendy’s brand colors and to ensure that the customer felt the heat of this work immediately.

NCAA March Madness x Wendy’s Collab

Wendy’s at this point has become a staple of March Madness and over the years they have approached the creative in a variety of different ways but since they had done so much in the past I thought it was important to stray a little bit from the norm and try to approach this in a new light. The sketchy chalk like drawings move your eyes to the main elements in the work and when you get close you see the details that make it stand out whether it’s the white flecks of paint/chalk around the hand drawn text or the detail in the brush strokes that highlight the sandwiches.

Wendy’s 24/7

Wendy’s wanted to let the customer know they were there for them morning, noon, and night so it was important for this creative to show that. These were displayed on billboards so I wanted the sandwiches to be as big as possible so the customer could see that iconic square patty. I chose this red to black gradient to tie in the red that Wendy's uses but also to signify a change between morning and night, letting the customer know Wendy’s has their breakfast, their late night craving, and everything in between covered. Wendy’s also keeps it fresh at all times so we went with a simple copy line that tied in to existing brand equity and let the customer know that Wendy’s is there for them 24/7.

Various Projects

I’ve been able to work on a variety of projects in my time working with Wendy’s at Saatchi & Saatchi X. Some were sports partnerships were I got to create LED ribbons in stadiums (and help customers get a free frosty), some projects involved creating a full suite of in store and out of home creative letting customers know about a great deal we had going, and some projects involved designing merch for the Wendy’s staff so they could stay decked out in the freshest gear or pins to recognize when a crew member has done something they should be proud of.
